40 Year Class Reunion

We have a date and venue for the 40th Reunion |
Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the
Bali Hai
Restaurant
in San Diego for the 40th Class Reunion.
That is Labor Day Weekend. Start making your plans! |

October 29, 2011 We now have enough Alumni committed to
buying tickets early to cover our deposit and an anonymous Alumni has
offered to guarantee the minimum required by the
Bali Hai Restaurant. Ticket prices and other details will be forth
coming. We are sympathetic about the cost to some of our Alumni and we
are going to try and make sure that they are not left out. If you feel
that you could use some help with the ticket cost or if you would like
to donate an extra ticket or two then please email us at
phs72reunion@suddenlink.net . The requests and donations will be
kept confidential. We want everyone to be able to come and have a good
time.
We have some that have already stepped
forward to help with various committee responsibilities but we still
need more help.

40th Reunion Ticket

It is official! You can
now reserve a spot or two for the 40th reunion. We will have discounted
pricing available through June. The discounted price is $100 per person
and then as of July first the price will go up to $120 per person.
We do have some funds for scholarship tickets for individuals. If you
are in need and cannot afford the ticket to come, please send an
e-mail to
phs72reunion@suddenlink.net to be
considered for an individual ticket scholarship. If you would like to
make a donation to the scholarship fund you can send an e-mail to that
address. Donated tickets will be kept at $100.00. All information is
strictly confidential.

Hotel Information |

We have booked a block of rooms at the
Humphreys Half Moon Inn and Suites. The Hotel is right next door to
the venue where we will be holding the Saturday Evening Event. We are
receiving a discounted rate of $159.00 per night, minimum 2 nights. This
is same rate we were given 10 years ago! Remember this is a holiday
weekend. Please make your reservations early. |

Bay Club Hotel &
Marina
The
Bay Club Hotel &
Marina is also holding 10 rooms for the nights of August 31 –
September 2, 2012. If all 10 rooms are booked prior to the cut off date
listed below, they will offer you additional rooms only if we determine
that there is availability.
The discount group rate is $129 for standard single double rooms, $199
for harbor view Executive Suites, $219 for marina view Executive Suites
and $249 for One-Bedroom Suites. These rates are plus 10.5% occupancy
tax and 2% tourism & marketing fee and also include a complimentary full
breakfast buffet and on-call, complimentary airport & Amtrak shuttle.
Please note that we have a 48-hour cancellation for individual
reservations, and a 2 night minimum stay on weekends.
The unused portion of the block will be released back to the hotel on
August 1, 2012.

Elvira
(McKay) Gibbings has volunteered to be our 40th Reunion Coordinator.
We really appreciate her taking on this responsibility. Elvira lives in
San Diego and has a friend that owns the
Bali Hai
Restaurant in San Diego. Those of you that attended the 30th reunion
will remember the venue. The Bali Hai has been recently remodeled and is
beautiful and the view is one of the best in the city. The prices are
reasonable and lodging is close by. It worked out great for the
30th and should be even better for the 40th! Elvira will need a lot of
help so please contact her (gibbings@cox.net)
and volunteer some of your time. |

Remember Mrs. Jeppeson?
Pamela Broersma got a card from Mrs.
Jeppeson, (Jepp) she was an English teacher and Latin club teacher
at PHS. Her address is 805 N. 22nd St. Blair, Nebraska, 68008. She
loves to hear from her former students. She is now 87 years old. She
was actually teaching English to some of the Football Team members
and some of the cheerleaders who were flunking English at the
University of Nebraska the year before last. It started out as a
temp position while they were looking for another teacher but ended
up lasting for about 2 or more years. At 85 years old no less. She
loved it and passed all of her students. The kid's coaches and the
president of the collage told her that if any of them got out of
hand or gave her any lip about anything to let them know and they
would settle them down. She had no problem with them, and they were
able to stay on the team. |
