Although I did send out this list in an
earlier e-mail, I wanted to send it again. Apparently some people did not read
that e-mail in it's entirety. While Humphrey's Half Moon Inn is going to be
our "official" hotel, there are several less expensive motels within a few
minutes drive of Shelter Island, where we are holding the reunion. Humphrey's
was the only hotel willing to give us a significant discount and willing to
hold a block of rooms. It is also the closest to our reunion venue. Please
understand that this event is being held during peak tourist season and
Humphrey's is a waterfront hotel with many amenities. For those of you that
want to search out other places for whatever reason, go for it. There are even
some nice campgrounds not too far from where we will be. Wherever you do
decided to stay, do not assume that you can wait till the last minute. It is
not unusual for San Diego hotels & campgrounds to be at 100% occupancy in
August. If you have AAA or AARP cards you might be able to get an additional
discount. The burden of research for this kind of discount is up to you.
Please, once you have made reservations
someplace, please let me know via e-mail so that we will know where you will
be staying. This is most important if you are staying at Humphrey's in case we
determine we need more rooms there.
