Tell us what's happened to you since high school
(Feel free to tell us THE WHOLE STORY):

I have been away so long that I have forgotten many people but I'm sure I will remember many of them once we start talking.  I have spent most of the last twenty-five years living in the Pacific Northwest.  For most of the seventies I lived in communal situations.  Later on I went to school at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. and trained as a lighting designer for stage plays.   I was Master Electrician at the Seattle Children's Theater for a while.  Recently, my wife and I relocated to Santa Fe, NM. from Seattle.  We have been married for thirteen years and were together for two years prior to that.  We have no children, but, we are happy.

I guess I should talk a bit about hobbies. You can do what you like with all of this stuff, by the way. In the early nineties, after I quit drinking and such, I got involved with the Mountaineer's Club in Seattle and was an avid climber and snowshoer. This was a great way to see the back country of the Pacific Northwest (it truly is a gorgeous area). I did this almost every weekend for about three years. In '93 I started practicing a traditional Japanese form of Karate called Shito-Ryu. I started doing this to get in shape for climbing but eventually wound up focusing on it and letting the Mountaineers stuff go. I practiced right up until the time we moved from Seattle in December of 2000.

Career? Job?

Currently I am what would be considered a "no account house husband" but I seem to work more than I did at a regular job. I am also the Volunteer Coordinator for a new library in our area.  I have been asked to sit on the Board of Directors for a three year term starting in January 2002 at the library where I've been volunteering.  We have two keeshond dogs named "Peeka" and "Smokey" which we got from the rescue society up in Washington and they are like children to us. My hobbies right now are: Mountain Biking, regular exercise, reading, and computer chess.

Which of your classmates are you most curious about?

I am curious about everyone we went to school with, and through the internet, I have been able to track down many of my old friends. However, I haven't been able to find out anything about Lorie Lawing.  If anyone knows of her whereabouts please e-mail me.

What was your favorite music then? Favorite song?

I liked a lot of music back then. In our senior year it was Jackson Browne "Saturate Before Using", Fleetwood Mac "Future Games" and "Bare Trees", Fairport Convention "Leige and Leif", "Led Zeppelin III", Jethro Tull "Stand Up" and "Benefit" and of course there was the whole gamut of Beatles, Rolling Stones, Joni Mitchel, Jimi Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and I particularly liked the Psychedelic San Francisco sound: Airplane, Quicksilver, Big Brother, Buffalo Springfield, Moby Grape, etc. But for parties and dancing, there was nothing like Motown and early funk (James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, and Tower of Power).   I think my favorite song would have been "Have You Seen the Stars Tonight" by Jefferson Starship on "Blows Against the Empire".

What is the best CD you've listened to recently?

I currently really like '70's Dub Regae (Augustus Pablo's "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown") and I am into trip hop like Massive Attack's "Protection" and "Mezzanine". Then there is the whole hypnotic trance like music of the "Rave" scene. On a different note the Dandy Warhol"s "Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia" is great and Steve Earle's "El Corazon" is a fantastic CD.

What is the best book you have read lately?

I read a lot of junk like murder mysteries and fantasy science fiction (although, I think that Tony Hillerman is actually a pretty good writer). As far as more substantial stuff goes, I think that "Lonesome Dove" is one of the best books I've ever read and James Clavell's "Shogun" is right up there. Mark Helprin's "Winter's Tale" is cool too. Anything by Michael Crighton, John Grisham, Anne Rice, Tom Robbins, Walter Mosley, John Nichols, Jane Smiley, Mary Renault, or Larry McMurtry. I also thought the "Harry Potter" series was great.

What is the best movie you've seen lately?

"Cider House Rules" is probably the best movie I've seen recently, although I agree with Jim Cooper in that "Harry Potter" was pretty cool.

Married? Kids?

Married, no kids

Additional Comments;

I think it's going to be really fun to see everyone who can make it to the reunion next summer. For many of us who lived in those exciting and turbulent times, life wound up being a bit of a wild ride and I'm looking forward to hearing all about it.
