Tell us what's happened to you since high school
(Feel free to tell us THE WHOLE STORY):
The brief version: I took one
year after Pomona HS to continue working at Garfield-Cottage
Hospital on Garey Ave in Pomona. Dr. William G. Stahl encouraged me
to go to Chaffey College to get my R.N. After much hard work going
to school and working full-time at the hospital, I received my R.N.
I immediately moved to Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area. I was employed
at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach. I worked in several
areas of the hospital, but the major areas were in the
Gastrointestinal Lab for 10 years, then Labor and Delivery for the
past 10 years. I received my Women's Health Nurse Practitioner
License in 1996. While practicing with a local OB/GYN office, I
continued to work at Hoag Hospital in Labor and Delivery. Delivering
babies is quite exciting and miraculous, therefore, difficult to
give up. However, in September of this year I resigned from Hoag
Hospital after working there for 22 years. I am now working with an
OB/GYN office in Huntington Beach two days a week. The rest of the
time I am building a home-based web business that has been exciting
and challenging since it's totally out of the medical field. I never
married, although I have been with a wonderful man for many years.
Robert and I live in Costa Mesa with our two cats. Pomona HS seems
like many lifetimes ago. Working with such voracity I didn't keep up
with many of my classmates over the years. It's fun to have this
site to see what everyone is up to.
