Tell us what's
happened to you since high school
(Feel free to tell us THE WHOLE STORY):
After high school, I worked at Disneyland for 15 years in Ride Operations
(attractions), and became a shop steward for Teamsters 495. Met my wife while we
both were working on Space Mountain, a few years later we had a daughter (Taylor
Martin). Went thru a 22 day strike against the park [(in which our negotiating
committee, got the management to change their Last, Best and Final offer) the
only bargaining unit to ever get Disney to change a final offer]. It change
after Eisner arrived, to the NOT happiest place on earth to work for anymore.
Started working for Western Exterminator, where I'm currently employed.
During my time at Disney, we became puppy raisers for a guide dog school for the
blind, and all 6 dogs that went back for training, became service dogs for a
blind person.
We fell in love with the Labrador Retriever breed and have become involved in
the 3 Lab Clubs in So. Cal. Our dogs do Field work, obedience, agility, and
conformation.
We enjoy camping and try to go every other month with friends. My daughter and I
attend the Scottish Highland Games in our area as time allows, along with any of
the Pipe competitions to encourage Taylor to continue her practice to play the
pipes herself. |
