Joni (Nist) Sullivan

Tell us what's happened to you since high school
(Feel free to tell us THE WHOLE STORY):

I graduated from MSAC in 1976 with a AA degree in Police Science.  In 1977 I was hired as a Police Dispatcher with La Verne Police Dept.  I married in 1978 and had 1 son, Christian in 1981.  He was the only good thing that came of that marriage.  I went on to work for West Covina Police as a Community Service Officer and then went to Cal State San Bernardino Police Dept. as a 911 dispatcher.  I still work part time (on call) for CSUSB Police but my regular job is with Lake Elsinore Unified School District as a Campus Supervisor at a Middle School.  I am currently married to my 2nd husband, Chris Sullivan who I met while working at La Verne Police Dept.  He was a police officer while I worked there as a dispatcher.  We have been married a little over 14 years and had 2 sons together.  Ryan, 13 years who was born with Down Syndrome.  He is very high functioning and we are very lucky he has no major medical problems.  And last but not least, our 8 year old son Ian.  My 19 year old son (Christian) from my first marriage is in the US Navy, stationed aboard the USS Essex which is homeported in Sasebo, Japan.  I might add that my current husband is a 1972 graduate of Damien High School in La Verne.  My husband retired medically 2 years ago as a Lt. with Rialto Police Dept. and currently works for a private security firm.  We stay busy with the kids sports, Special Olympics and our jobs.
