Tell us what's
happened to you since high school
(Feel free to tell us THE WHOLE STORY):
As of July 2001, I moved to Bullhead City,
AZ. Bullhead is located along the beautiful banks of the Colorado River
right across from Laughlin, NV. Last August, I was fortunate to have sold
my condo in Northern California. I purchased a relatively new home in a
lovely, gated community. Everyday, I am blessed to view glorious sunrises
and sunsets over the rugged, colorful mountain terrain that surrounds Bullhead
City.
I am employed at the local electric company as the Manager of Human Resources
and Employee Relations. I have joined a few community causes and love to
participate at local events. I am looking forward to the warmer weather so
I can enjoy hanging out by the river once again. Hopefully, this year I
will be able to do a little fishing and water skiing.
I am still an avid hot rod fan and attend many of the NHRA (National Hot Rod
Association) events in Pomona, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. I am planning to
enter my refurbished 1970 Mustang in a few local car shows. I bought my
Mustang in 1974. I have had this car longer than any other possessions in
my life. My philosophy is if you take care of what you have, it will last
a long time…and it shows!
Since the 20th reunion, I bought a condo in Northern California in 1993. I
worked as a Benefits Manager for a few companies around the San Francisco area.
In 1995, I moved to Nashville, TN. I was into country western music and
wanted a change of pace from the hub-bub of California. Well, you can take
the girl from California, but you cannot take California out of this girl!
After about 3 years, I moved back to California early 1998. I was
fortunate to land a full-time Human Resources Manager position at a
Pharmaceutical company in South San Francisco. On a daily basis, I
actually endured a four-hour commute a day. As I started to become a couch
potato on weekends because I was too tired to do much, I knew I had to change
something in my life. Additionally, I knew I could not afford to retire in CA.
So, last year, I started looking for houses and employment in Bullhead. I
chose Bullhead City because my parents bought property here in 1965. As a
family, we spent many vacations and holidays here. So, in fact, Bullhead
City holds many fond memories of growing up and feels like it has always been my
second home.
In conclusion, I still do not think I have come to a full circle in my life yet.
I am not ready to settle down either in my professional career or personal life
yet. I think I have a bit of gypsy in my spirit. I am however,
thankful for what I have and have no regrets on how I have lived my life so far.
I feel that I am blessed and am old enough now to really enjoy every aspect of
my life!
I am really looking forward to visiting everyone at the 2002 class reunion!
